In a succession of breathtaking panoramas and historic locations just a few kilometres apart, the Veneto enchants with its wealth of landscapes: mountains, hills, lakes, plains and all the beauty of the Adriatic Sea. What better way to visit all these places than on a motorbike?
On two wheels, you will appreciate the beauty of this natural mosaic even more. Forget traffic and stress: motorbike travel is a unique experience that gives you carefree freedom. Where should you start your adventure?
In this article we take you on a discovery of the most beautiful beaches and seaside resorts to visit on your motorbike!
The beaches of the Adriatic Sea are easy to reach by motorbike and offer uniquely fascinating landscapes along the way. Such as Via Trezze in Quarto d'Altino, a provincial road bordering the Venetian lagoon along which you can admire ancient, now abandoned farmhouses.
Quarto d'Altino is also a place of great historical interest: the city was in fact an ancient Paleovenetian settlement and then a Roman municipium. Today, you can still visit the archaeological area at the National Archaeological Museum of Altino.
Another city with a history stretching back thousands of years is Chioggia. Called 'little Venice' for its canals, bridges and calli, the seaside town has a strong fishing tradition. An essential stop is therefore the Fish Market, one of the city's oldest institutions. Reach it comfortably by motorbike following the Romea state road, and stop here to taste local delicacies and immerse yourself in Venetian culture.
From Chioggia you can take a motorboat to Pellestrina: a thin strip of coastline between the Venetian lagoon and the Adriatic Sea off the main tourist routes. Here, tradition and nature come together in a perfect union, offering the ideal setting for a peaceful stroll.
Among the many Venetian villas along the river Brenta, Villa Foscari, known as 'Malcontenta', stands out for its majesty. The residence, designed by Andrea Palladio between 1555 and 1560, has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site for the beauty of its architecture and the frescoes inside. The villa is located in the eponymous municipality of Malcontenta, a small village that can be easily reached by motorbike, always following the Romea state road.
Lapped by the Adriatic Sea and the waters of the lagoon, the Cavallino Treporti coastline never ceases to amaze with its unique landscapes. We have already talked about the beauty of this place in the article 'The Lagoon and the Cavallino hinterland'. Here you can take a dip in the sea, stroll along the beaches and immerse yourself in nature by visiting the “Parco Turistico”. One day is not enough? Stay at the Camping Village Garden Paradiso and leave the next day to discover the beauty of the Veneto!
